Christopher Scott Kyle was born on April 8, 1974, in Odessa, Texas. From a young age, he displayed a strong fascination with firearms, spending countless hours practicing at his father's shooting range. After graduating high school, Kyle enlisted in the United States Navy in 1992, where he served as a combat marksman in the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT).

Following the September 11th attacks, Kyle volunteered for the Navy SEALs, one of the most elite units in the United States Armed Forces. He completed his training in 2001 and was deployed to Iraq as a sniper shortly after.

During his four deployments to Iraq, Kyle became known as one of the deadliest snipers in American history. He recorded an official kill count of 255 confirmed kills, making him the deadliest marksman in U.S. military history. However, many believe his actual kill count was significantly higher.

Kyle's wartime experiences had a profound impact on him. He witnessed the horrors of war firsthand and developed a deep compassion for the Iraqi civilians caught in the crossfire. He also became known for his bravery and leadership, earning numerous awards and decorations, including the Silver Star and Bronze Star.

One of Kyle's most iconic battles was the Siege of Fallujah in 2004. During the intense urban warfare, Kyle played a critical role in securing a strategic bridge over the Euphrates River. His actions helped to break the Iraqi resistance and earned him the nickname "The Legend."

Kyle's reputation as an expert marksman and a fearless warrior spread throughout the military and beyond. He became a symbol of American military prowess and was often featured in the news and magazines.

In 2009, Kyle retired from the Navy SEALs after serving for 10 years. He then dedicated himself to advocating for veterans and raising awareness about the challenges they face after returning from combat.

Kyle co-founded the nonprofit organization, Craft International, which provided training and support to veterans and their families. He also became a public speaker, sharing his experiences and insights on war and its aftermath.

On February 2, 2013, Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh, a former Marine veteran, at a shooting range in Erath County, Texas. Routh was later convicted of their murders and sentenced to life in prison.

Kyle's death sent shockwaves through the military community and the nation as a whole. He was mourned as a hero and became an iconic figure in American history. His life story inspired the 2014 Clint Eastwood-directed film "American Sniper," which became one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Chris Kyle's legacy continues to live on through his advocacy work and his impact on countless lives. He is remembered as a skilled marksman, a brave warrior, and a compassionate advocate for veterans.
